Pizza inside the Burrito!

By MzBaker 10 Comments

So tonight I went a little different and easy.

What I used azteca flour tortillas, classico four cheese spaghetti sauce, sliced ham, pepperoni, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms and some cheeses.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I took some burrito shells or flour tortillas whatever you want to call them.  Topped with some spaghetti sauce we bought from the grocery store, for moments like this!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Then some Pepperoni, I’m starting with the hubby’s.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Topped the Pepperoni with some sliced ham (lunch meat).

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Next some Tomatoes, he’s gonna love it!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

How easy right lol next add some mushrooms and onions, I sliced and diced these together.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Just another view.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I almost forgot the black olives, those are the best part.  I love them!!OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I microwaved for about 30 seconds to soften the shell up and that way I can roll it up easier.  I added the Parmesan cheese too.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Now I could have done this in my non stick pan with no oil and it would have browned nicely, but there is something about the taste when you do use a little oil in the pan.  Makes it better in my opinion.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Now I’m gonna plate hubby’s he only needs one, but I made him an extra to nuke later. I know he’ll be hungry.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Yummy can you see that chunk of Tomato?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Look it has a reflection on the plate lol 🙂

Now I’m gonna make my son’s,  I will make him two as well.  He will only eat one now though and the other for lunch tomorrow probably, unless he wakes up and says I want that pizza roll up.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

For him its simple Sauce, Pepperoni, Pizza cheese and Parmesan cheese.

This is how you roll a tight burrito!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I take my hand and push the shell down and slide it back towards me.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

tuck the ends in one at a time, so that it doesnt leak out while cooking.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Just like this, I like to roll them nice and tight.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Now for the other end of the Pizza Burrito.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

There we have two cheese and pepperoni burritos lol

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Yum aren’t they just lovely?  He could only eat one of them lol like I said.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Now for mine, which is about as simple as my sons lol

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Sauce and Pepperoni

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Black Olives my favorite

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Add the Cheeses and then microwave it for around 30 seconds so the shell is manage-able.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Then fry till golden on each side.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Flip it over!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Then cut and serve!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I have to admit these are really good! You cannot get any more simple than some burrito shells & toppings!

I love Italian food and Mexican food. Never thought of combining the two. May try this out of sheer curiosity.

I think this is a fantastic idea! The recipe is easy enough my son can make these. I will have to share this with him the next time he has to cook dinner.
