What’s for dinner (Pictures & Recipe)

By MzBaker 5 Comments

I am making delicious homemade Chicken soup & homemade noodles!

Pictures & a rough recipe.

So I took a little hen and my biggest pan, put enough cold water to cover the bird, sea salt, pepper, onion powder, minced onion, garlic powder, curry powder, seasoning salt, celery salt & grated carrots. I let this cook for quite a while, when the wings fell off I knew that it was done.

I took the bird out of the pan and let it cook on low for a bit.  I started to make the noodles while 2 eggs beaten, 1/4 cup milk 1 tsp salt stir all upOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

then add in 1.5 cups of flour stir until dough is thick and you have to use your hands to mix in the remaining (roughly) half cup of flour.

cut into 4 pieces then roll each one and let sit for 40 minutes.

While the noodles sit, pick the hen apart and shred it up.  Put all the bones and fat back in pan and cook for about 30 minutes.

Remove all of the piece of bird and strain the chicken broth.

Cut the Noodles how you wish, I used a pizza cutter they work great!

Put in pan and bring to a good simmer and drop in all the noodles cook for about 8 minutes,OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

They are big and poofy noodles, but it’s cause I hand rolled them.  If I had a Pasta Machine I’d be good to go lol 🙂

then put 1/4 cup water with 3 tbsp corn starch and mix well then pour in to pan and cook another 10 minutes.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

 Now serve!

It was very filling, I couldn’t finish the bowl lol and no crackers are required with this soup!

A great twist to a hen. I never would have thought about adding the noodles and it does look filling. You’re so creative. Thanks for sharing.
