We love to Homeschool, how about you?
My son isn’t the happiest about it, he doesn’t always enjoy trying to read. He struggles because he has Autism Spectrum Disorder, but that won’t stop him. He is learning but not a traditional way. We are always looking for new ways to help teach my sweet boy. He is really good in math and imagine this computer software editing! You heard me since he was 8 he has been able to pick apart computer software without being able to read and change change images to his own.
He has a Super Mario Bros. Game on the computer and some how he found the folder where all the images were for the game. He opened each one in Jasc Paint Shop Pro and he made his own images and saved it. So it was no longer Super Mario Bros. it was Super Leo’s World lol I was blown completely away! I mean wow! Most kids wouldn’t even think to pick apart the software images to make it their own.
He truly amazes me, I love him so!
I don’t stress to much with forcing him to learn, cause he really teaches himself. Now don’t get me wrong I force him to do work, just not as long as a school would. How he teaches himself is all summer long he asks me how do you spell, how do you spell. He was playing a game when he would ask me because he was talking to other people. He loves the game minecraft he has his own email, YouTube account, Facebook account and he uses the YouTube. He doesn’t really use Facebook unless he wants to play on their in the games. He always wants to download them I tell him you can’t, and well depending on the game he showed me how to download them. WoW again! He downloaded a flash game from Facebook! Nothing like cafe world, farmville or anything like. He was able to download a PAC-MAN game and another I cannot think of at the moment.
This photo is my son, myself, my husband and Leo’s other Grandma. She came to visit from North Carolina for my nephew Adam’s Graduation. We miss her!! She was with my Dad for many, many years until he passed away in Jan 2011. He is so missed by us all!

That’s a beautiful family picture Marie. I am sure Leo would excel in technology related stuff. I did love when I taught my two kids at home instead of sending them to preschool, my kids loved it too! My son even asked me if I can just home school him instead of sending him to school for the kindergarten.
