Made some delish pizza yesterday thought I’d share some photos!

By MzBaker Leave a Comment

I made one of my awesome pizza’s yesterday and it was amazing. I didn’t make a traditional pizza with a tomato based sauce. I used ranch! The recipe is easy, super easy, so easy you will be mad at yourself for not trying it sooner! I’m not kidding!  Have you ever walked into Pizza Hut and smelled that yeasty pizza dough smell, but it’s combined with toppings that are cooking on them.  My house smells just like Pizza Hut when I make this crust!  Even before it’s baked my son comes from his room and says I smell PIZZA!

So here we go I’m gonna run down the ingredients so you do not have to search my site hehe I’ll make it EZ!

  • 1 1/3 cup hot tap water
  • 1 packet of fast acting yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 4 cups flour
  • 3 oz oil

To start put hot water, salt, yeast in good sized mixing bowl and stir sprinkle the 1/4 tsp sugar on the mixture and let sit for 5 – 10 minutes.  Once it has started to active add the 2 tbsp’s oil and stir well, I simply use a plastic spoon that is shaped like a wooden spoon.  I add the flour and stir it will be clumpy like the photo shows.  knead it until it’s smooth!  It will be a small job it’s a tough dough.  You will NOT need any flour down on your surface as it’s not a sticky dough, maybe a just a teeny bit at first.  Once the dough has been kneaded around 10 minutes and is smooth.  kinda roll it to the shape of a log or a circle depending on the type of pan you are using.  It has to have a short side around it because you need to put that 3 oz of oil in that pan and make sure to coat the entire thing, there will be a bit of oil and it’s needed!  Roll your dough with a rolling pin or if your that good you can use your hands.  I use the rolling pin.  I shape it to my rectangle shaped pan and lay it in there I lightly fork it all over the top and then I top it.  Normally you would let butter the edges of the crust and let it sit in a warm place and rise for so long. I think 2 hours, I cannot recall at the moment.  You top the pizza and bake at 475 for 15 minutes depending on oven it could be a minute or two more or less! So watch it!
