Looking Forward To The Move!

By MzBaker 5 Comments

We are now looking forward to the move!

I honestly cannot wait to move the idea of all the new places is kinda cool.  Which one do we pick? Will we be approved? Our credit isn’t that great so that part can be a bit scary.  We have several places between two new MEN landlords.  I will never rent from another woman again! If any one finds this offensive I apologize, but women landlords are HORRIBLE!  Ours has that stick issue lol!  Anyways one of the places is another mobile home, which we don’t mind and it sits on 5 acres for $500 a month.  It has 3 or 4 bdrm and 2 bathrooms.  Then that same landlord has a very large type of mobile home community, I wouldn’t call it a park because the mobile homes are so far apart.  The one we are interested in is that last one and on a lake! Again this is either $500 or $550.

The other landlord has two properties which I have photos of and will share here.  One property is a mobile home and honestly it’s beautiful in my opinion inside.  It’s not my dream home or nothing but it’s clean and bright and looks decent.  I just wish it had the garden tub for my big ole but. lol There is a house on the property too, but the house isn’t as nice.  It’s okay, dont’ get me wrong.   You’ll see from the photos.  I will put them in two different albums so you can see them separately.

I really hope things work out like we are planning.  Our taxes are on their way and I cannot wait, they are our safety net at this point.   If it wasn’t tax time I’m not quite sure what we’d be doing.   We have enough money now to move, get a truck, turn on all new utilities if needed, but we’d rather just transfer our current.  There are three different Electric companies here! It’s crazy really lol There is Wiregrass Electric which in my opinion them people are horrible.   There’s Pea River Electric which is what we have now and there is Alabama Power and we haven’t had them before.  I guess it depends on where you live, but at our last house we could have had either Wiregrass Electric or Alabama Power. Then there is the garbage and water they usually require deposits and so forth.  We’ll be able to transfer the Directv, Phone and everything else.

Moving can be a stressful time and at first I was really kinda in panic mode.  One of the first things we think is who’s gonna allow us to move in again have 2 dogs and 3 cats?  Thankfully there are so many landlords that actually will!  It’s a lot of work to find the perfect place too.  As long as taxes fall into place we’ll be good to go!

As for this property here we are living in now well it’s been reported that it’s listed as homestead and it’s in a dead mans name.  They changed it to rental status and raised her taxes.  I also couldn’t help myself but to tell them that we have also lived here since Jan 2012 and before us she had 3 years worth of tenants I’m sure she acted no different towards!  I explained to the lady at the County if they check the water department, garbage department and electric company for how many people have been in the last 5 years they will see the truth.  We even found drugs in this home when we moved in.  I don’t think that Marijuana is that big a deal, however it was found in my son’s room it was between the lip of the top of the A/C Window Unit and the window.  I’m just glad I found it!   I should have called the police at that moment and reported I found drugs on the property.  I thought it would be a little much though.  That happened within the first couple months.

Wherever we decide to go I will verify that the property is legal for rental purposes! I would suggest that to anyone else as well.  I mean if a landlord is sneaky snake and has no problem violating laws, avoiding inspections, avoiding taxes, avoiding reporting this is rental property, having other people call us pretending to want vehicle work, etc…. LOOK OUT FOR YOU!! That’s what is important!

Who wants to come help me pack? lol
