Before WordPress I wrote all my own HTML Code! Go look at http://www.little-leo.com it has came a long, long way!

Before I ever had the awesome blogging script WordPress, I guess you could call it manual blogging.  That’s what I was doing, I laid my site out like a blog, but it just wasn’t as simple as using WP.   A few of my first sites was ShannonsLife.com, Little-Leo.com and WebDesignJunkie.com.  Now these were the sites that were similar to a blog.  I wrote about my life and just things in general.

Now I wrote all my own HTML, I also learned how to use FTP and HTML Editors.  I prefer CuteFTP by GlobalScape!  I actually like all of their softwares, I just cannot buy them all.  Besides I have WP now! Right? Yep, I sure do and I love it!

I kept telling my mom how easy it was to blog and she should start doing it too.  Not only can she write stuff and share photos, but she could maybe earn a little bit of money.   I have been earning online since around 2001-2002 somewhere around there.   By 2003 I had my own servers and hosting.  Now back then it was crap! I later finally in 2008 found myself the best place to get a server, never any down time and help when I need it.  So I am still selling full cPanel web hosting accounts.

One of the other ventures online I made was to earn money by reading emails.  Let me tell you that wasn’t worth it and a lot of sites never paid.  I got out of that fairly fast, but I was a reseller of the scripts for paid to read for a little while anyways.  Paid to read sites were like a big pyramid scheme, based on referral earnings and in reality the owners never made money really.  At least I didn’t know any who really profited well from it.  I earned a pretty penny selling the sites, but this was before I really learned just that these types of sites weren’t what I wanted to be doing.

I moved on to a myspace resource site and that site ran for some time it was called Leoza.com if you search archives of it you can actually still see images I created and all the layouts I made.   That was one of my favorite sites as far as traffic and earning from ads.  I have learned since then that earning with ads like google or other publishers aren’t as easy as it was.  Yahoo Publishers was one of my favorites I would earn literally around $3000.00 on a good month.   It was Awesome!  No other publisher I have used ever paid me like my faithful old yahoo publisher account.  I miss them soooooooooo bad!

I have had so many websites over the past 13 years it’s crazy! Some made it the long haul and some didn’t.   I would be lost now without my WP, I love plugins, themes and all the cool options available!

Now my mom has finally got a blog site going too! BamaGramma.com she is blogging and she is enjoying it.  She has even done a couple reviews which she thought was the coolest thing.  So did I!
