Favorite Candy That Takes You Down Memory Lane

When you were a kid your summer days were filled with hanging out and doing the typical kid activities. Perhaps you hung out at the home of a friend where everyone went to shoot the breeze. Or, you spent time playing at a local park or swimming at the pool. Whatever you did it is a sure bet that candy was a part of your good times. Adults often carry fond memories of favorite candy eaten during those idyllic times when there were no major responsibilities. It’s funny how a piece of candy can immediately take you right back to a specific place and time.

The good thing is that there are online shops that sell your favorite candies from way back in the day. They feature types of candy you ate the most in your youth. This candy is still just as good as it ever was.

Bubble Gum

It is hard to imagine a childhood spent without bubble gum. To kids bubble gum is one of the greatest edible inventions ever created. This type of gum is the ultimate kid friendly candy. It is cheap and widely available. It offers a challenge in that kids must learn how to blow bubbles. Once that is learned it becomes a bigger challenge to see who can blow the biggest bubble. Oh, and then there’s picking pieces of gum off your face after that huge bubble pops.

Candy Bars

Every kid has a favorite candy bar. There are lots to choose from in this category. Popular bars that feature milk chocolate come in those familiar squares that you break off in small pieces. Some brands include chewy caramel and nougat centers. Let’s not forget those addictive crunchy bars with salty peanuts.

Fireballs

Kids with an adventurous streak went for the daring fireballs. These mildly hot candies leave your tongue tingling with a sweetly spicy cinnamon flavor. It was fun trying to hold it in your mouth as long as possible.

Hard Fruit Candies

Hard candies are a classic kid favorite that will always be around. Fruit flavors that are most popular are red cherry, purple grape, orange, yellow lemon and green lime. Other flavors have been added over the years.

You can relive all of those precious childhood memories when you find many of your old favorites online. Simply shop candy by name when visiting a vendor that offers traditional brands.

I remember the candy cigarettes. I love the ones that were gum and you could actually blow powder from them. They stopped making them because they didn’t want kids pretending to smoke.
