BlueApron.com Review!
I was so excited to try out BlueApron.com‘s Food Delivery Service! I really couldn’t wait you have no idea! Firstly I had no idea what I was going to receive until I logged in and checked to see it was all vegetarian. I wasn’t excited about that, but I thought hey I wont knock it until we try it. Besides I’m cooking it and I can tweak flavors if need be! So let me add that any meat added to these recipes were added by me and did not come with these meals.
I received three meals to prepare, cook and feed to my family. The meals were supposed to feed two, however it was good for our family of three. I have to confess a lot of the ingredients I have never used before and it was a totally cool experience!
So our delivery came right on the day it was supposed to and I started cooking them on that first night. I started with the Fresh Gnocchi and Baby Zucchini with Crispy Squash Blossoms & Lemon Brown Butter. I started by slicing all the vegetables and preparing everything and then continued on with the recipe. This was a real winner we liked it a lot! I have always loved gnocchi and I never made it like this before with veggies and lemon. I have always wanted to use the Squash blossoms too. This meal wasn’t hard to make it was easy, refreshing and delicious!
So for Saturday I decided to make the Shaved Fennel & Pecorino Salad with Lollo Rosso, Farro & Lemon Vinaigrette. Now this recipe had several products I haven’t ever used! That made this one fun! Since it was a salad I thought we have to have meat so I did get a pork loin and sliced very thin small pieces and cooked in a little butter and seasoned well. The recipe wasn’t too difficult and resulted in another meal my son liked! That is always pleasing! None of us have ever had Farrow before, but I have a million ideas for what I can use it in. This was delicious!
So for Father’s Day I decided to go with the King Trumpet Mushroom Steam Buns with Miso Butter & Japanese Sweet Potato Salad! Now this was awesome, but the Japanese Sweet Potato Salad wasn’t a hit at all. It was different and very weird to us the sesame oil was so overpowering and it was just weird. Something we never had before and that wouldn’t try again. My husband ate it cause he’s a good boy lol and eats everything on his plate. I didn’t force my son to eat it and I tasted it and that was it. Now on a brighter side I LOVED the Chinese Steam Buns and Mushrooms with chopped pork loin cooked in with it. This was so amazing words cannot even describe it. I thought when I made the Miso Butter it was a bit strange and was strong in citrus flavor, however when I dipped this little bun in it to give it a taste I was blown away! It was perfect together. I ended up dipping meat and mushrooms in the sauce eating just them alone with no bun. I wish the potato salad would have been a hit too, but out of all three meals I’d say that wasn’t bad to just have one thing we didn’t care for. Now That’s just us, You may love the flavors!
It was totally cool to have meals I never had before and was able to create them here at home myself and feel like it is something from a nice fancy dress restuarant! I say give them a try you will love it. BlueApron.com gives any home cook the ability to create a delicious gourmet style meal without having to even leave your home! Our family really enjoyed all three of the meals and hope to order from them again.

Those look delicious. I am sure they would do vegan for our family. I can see this service is totally worth it. I must pamper and treat myself to this kind of small luxury more often.

I am an omnivore-both plant and meat eater! That gnocci looks really good and I am sure I would love it. Since it is only me here and you say the 2 servings actually could be for three I will have to pass.
