About Shannon (Marie) Baker
I was born in the city of Detroit, state of Michigan in late 1973 to Sherry & Donny. I went to school and grew up loving food! I loved to eat and make food it was something I would actually think about often. I later met my husband when I was 18 years old and we married in 1995 the day after my birthday. I changed my name to Baker, which was the hubby’s name. All I could think was I married into the right last name if nothing else came from it, I would keep that name!
Anyways over the years I have made lots of cakes, cupcakes and desserts. Some of them I have decorated amazingly and people say why don’t you have your own business. I just think cause well I’m broke, I have no money and no way to even move towards the thought of it. Well its now been a lot of years later 2012 and still today, I’m being asked why don’t you have your own business? I know I have just gotten better over the years, I have made some remarkable cakes, cupcakes and just foods.
I would actually love to cater as well as make cakes & cup cakes. I make some super Swedish meatballs, they may not be what your grandma used to make, but they are yummy! I make Awesome spaghetti w/meatballs and Italian sausage or chicken Parmesan w/garlic bread. I can really make anything, cooking in general is my serious dream! It’s that one thing I know that I’m good at for sure!
I guess all in all I just love cooking its my joy, especially when my nine year old comes in and starts making his own characters out of fondant or wants to stir and add the stuff. He already says he wants to be a Pastry Chef which tickles me. There are lots of places in need of good cooked food or goodies, and will always be something in demand for events or something.
Today the way I look at food has changed quite a bit! I do not allow my family to consume so much sugar and crap any more! I am completely low carb, high fat, Atkins (1972) Diet! I will occasionally try something, but never do I go over board or eat even a quarter of a serving of something with sugar and carbs in it. I would still love to open a restaurant and just make the kind of food I eat and let people see how easy it could be to go and eat some place in the public that knows how to make a meal with 0 sugar and 7 carbs or less for entire dinner!
Yep, that sums me up these days!
