Ingredients
1 1/2 – 2 lb | ground chuck or sirloin |
3/4 sm | white onion |
5 md | fresh garlic, minced |
2 c | boiling water |
2 | beef bouillon, cubes |
1 tsp | pepper |
1 1/2 tsp | salt |
1 1/2 tsp | italian seasoning |
1 1/2 tsp | oregano, dried |
2 | bay leaves |
1/2 tsp | seasoning salt |
1 tsp | basil |
1 tsp | majoram |
1/4 tsp | rosemary |
3 tsp | garlic powder |
4 Tbsp | sugar |
1 can(s) | tomato paste |
1 c | water or beef broth |
Directions
1. In dish put either 2 cups of beef broth or 2 cups of water in microwave and boil it, add the bouillon to the water and dissolve.
2. While the bouillon is dissolving cut your onions and garlic.
3. Add onions and garlic to the beef broth.
4. Put your ground meat into your pan and break it up using a spoon, add the hot beef broth and let it simmer on low stirring and breaking down the meat.
5. Once the meat is completely cooked add all seasonings, stir them in well.
6. Add the tomato paste and stir in well.
7. The sauce should look like this by now, add the sugar now.
8. Let sauce simmer on very low so it dont burn or stick to bottom of pan, mine cooks around 2 to 3 hours.
9. When sauce is getting a little thick or cooking down add the extra cup of water or as much as you like to loosen the sauce up a little. Let it cook about half hour more if you add the extra water.
