Boston Butt Wet & Dry Rub!
The rub I’ll be using on the Boston Butt will consist of:
Dry Rub
6 tsp garlic powder
6 tsp garlic powder
6 tbsp paprika
3 tsp cumin
4 1/2 tsp pepper
1 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
6 tbsp dark brown sugar
put all ingredients in a bowl and whisk until all seasonings are blended and mixed well.
Wet Rub
3 tbsp mustard
2 tsp sriracha
Combine in a bowl and use it to rub on the boston butt first! It makes dry rub stick well to the Boston Butt.
This is before and after adding seasonings and sugar!

This is the before and after of the wet rub of mustard and sriracha.
BBQ Sauce
Remaining Rub
1/4 dark brown sugar
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 c ketchup mixed with around 1/2 cup water (I combined this in a big measuring cup.)
3 tbsp mustard
simmer on low for in a heavy pan for a while till you love it and your mouth waters when you are about to taste it! That’s when you know it’s Good! Ohhhh and it is!!
Mine is still cooking so these photo’s are just the recent slightly warmed sauce pictures. Once it’s done I”ll add the updated photo to show the done sauce and what I put the sauce on.
So you’re probably wondering how it all turned out? Maybe you’re wondering that lol
SO here are some photos of the rest of our meal for today!
Now I would normally put carrots under what ever kind of meat chunks I cook, I do it as a rack and it’s food! This time I had some left over apples from a bag 2 green, one red. I cut them and removed all seeds and layered them in the pan as my rack for my chunk of rubbed meat!
I coated the butt with the mustard and sriracha rub first!
Then I coated it with the dry rub! I know it may look like a lot, but trust me it’s so good!
This is what happened while the butt cooked in the oven.
This was a little fruit salad I threw together, never made it before and it turned out great! It’s mango, strawberry and grapes with a couple tablespoons of sugar mixed with a couple tablespoons of sour cream. I mixed that in its own dish then poured it over the fruit and stirred. I couldn’t believe how freaking good it was!
The rack in my old beat up grill is from my old oven cause this grill didn’t have a rack in it. I can’t win, but hey the meat was great!
This old grill was here when we moved in, we use it now and then. We can’t use it to often cause the bottom is falling out from using charcoal in it. It doesn’t work even if it had gas.
This little guy was jumping around top of one of our old cars.
Just ready to come off the grill and hit the dinner plates.
The dog was losing his mind cause I was cutting up the Boston Butt, it smelled so good!
Come on Mama gimmie a bite!!
I threw a piece out there he was done with Daddy!
This is my Boston Butt it tastes so good!
The dog loves the macaroni salad and even eats it off a fork.

Now i got an idea next time I roast a whole duck. I will put sliced apples on the base so the pan won’t get burned and sticky. I bet the duck fat will blend in nicely along with potatoes too! So glad i stopped by! i learned something new.
Thank you for sharing!
