Do you hate doing dishes too?
Sometimes I just really cannot stand to do dishes. I manually wash each individual piece, I know what’s wrong with me? I guess until I really find a dishwasher that actually works then I just wont be interested. I used to use a dishwasher and we tried all kinds of different methods to remove the dirt or water spots. I just got sick of it and realized I can wash the dishes twice as fast and have them done in less time than it takes to run that thing, dryer and all. I just gave up on them machines. I know that I can feel the dish and see if anything is on it, plus I’m super picky about how they rest to dry. LOL
I know I can be so anal about things, I just cannot help it though.
Most of my dishes come clean fast and easy, probably because the brand they are. I have used Corelle Dishes made by Corning, since 1997 when I bought my first set. I still have most of them today, I have lost (not by breaking), but actually miss-placed a dish or someone was a smarty pants and threw it away (cause they didn’t want me to see what they had hidden in their bedroom). None the less I love my dishes! When I bought them, it was because they actually matched the tile on my floor! They were Amazing to me! I love them still. I couldn’t tell you today what they were exactly like the print name, but they are cool! I still love them, the plates and saucers that remain have pretty much full color still and hasn’t worn.
Why would I want to keep the same dishes all these years? Well the reason is because these are the best dishes around! I mean my Grandma’s Mom had them too! Not just them my mom had some here and there as well. I never had dishes that I could actually drop and wouldn’t break. Even today in my beautiful deep set ceramic sink, I have dropped a bowl or plate now and then. I have carpal tunnel in both wrists and sometimes I get these jolts and well stuff falls out of my hand. It’s not all the time just when my wrists are tired, I think.
Typing here all the time doesn’t help but I love blogging and sharing stories about our life with photos. Not that it’s all that extravagant. We just live in a country home and I am always killing a bug! LOL Darn things!
I love to cook and have family over, I make big and plate filling meals with desserts! It’s my pleasure I must admit. Food is something I can do good, if I didn’t have such anxiety I would love to go on Hell’s Kitchen or even Chopped. Well maybe not Chopped any more……
It’s important to have a beautiful set of dishes to serve your family’s meal on! I love when I see all matching plates, saucers and bowls on my table! It makes me feel like I’m doing it right. Now I know I didn’t pay much for the dishes I have back in 1997, maybe $40 – $50 and they were one of the best purchase ever, besides the PYREX Baking Dishes I have. Those I have had since around 2002 or 2003, Love’em!
Well as of today what I have left out of my set of Corelle Diningware/tableware not sure of the exact name. My FAVORITE Dishes works for me.
My remaining are:
2 Dinner Plates
2 Platters
3 Saucers
2 Bowls
1 Serving Plate (Dinner sized plate with an edge like a bowl)
I will show you.

Throw it away? That reminds me of the birthday party I hosted for my son at our home, one of the guests dumped even the silverware o in the trash. Gladly, hubby caught it and picked it up. The sad thing is, the one who did it is an adult grr.. That’s why I quit hosting a birthday party. How’s your son’s birthday, by the way?

I truly admire all your dishes. They are so beautiful. If I have that kind of dining-ware, I wil definitely hand wash them.
