Hugo the Happy Starfish, The Last Bully ~ Book Review
We received the book called Hugo the happy Starfish The Last Bully. The book has such great vibrant attention getting colors and photos. It also had a nice bit of information from the author which is always nice to know a little more about them. I read through the book before I called my son in, I thought it was a great book. It’s a Children’s book about Bullying.
My son is ten years old and has autism spectrum disorder. He right away liked the cover of the book, I explained the story a little bit to him about how it’s against bullying. He immediately said no one should bully you or me! I said You are very right, son!
The book is about a caring & bored little starfish named Hugo. He feels sad and he doesn’t want to any more. Hugo finds that sharing with others is what truly makes him happy. Hugo travels the big underwater and learns lessons about life. Hugo also comforts little fish who was feeling bad because of a bully.
Through the story there are bullies who become bullied themselves and learn that it’s not nice to be a bully. They start an Anti-Bully Club called ABC and the go around and help others being bullied.
Little Hugo also says “RESPECT! Don’t bully! What comes around goes around and there’s always a bigger fish in the ocean. This is a very true statement, someone out there is always gonna be a little bigger. Be nice and hopefully others will be nice to you too.
In the end they adventured the ocean making sure others weren’t bullied and they helped stomp out bullying.
The first and second book of HUGO THE HAPPY STARFISH is an
Award-Winning Finalist in the CHILRDEN’S MIND/ BODY/ SPIRIT category of the USA “Best Books 2011” and “Best Books 2012” Awards.
Something else I really liked is when I searched the Hugo Book in Amazon. I found out that these children’s books are 7 languages, that’s Awesome! The languages I found were English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
This book is definitely a positive character building book, and it teaches you to respect others and to tell if someone bully’s you. I recommend it to all parents to help begin character education from a young age.
Thanks for reading my review and remember to Learn Respect, Teach Respect and DON’T Bully!

Looks like a great book for kids! Respect seemed not always practice to many kids these days. This is great that it’s incorporated in this book.
