Windows Are Leaking!
So today it decided to really rain like crazy and it’s coming down. You cannot really fix this until it stops raining and is dried up so you can silicone the windows again. What really irritates me is when we met with this landlord he said he has maintence guys who go through, check the plugs, check windows, check plumbing and all kinds of things. He has came out when we called cause of the way the live wires were hidden in the wall and we had to remove woodwork which revealed them. They actually sparked and caused the bottom of the trip to blacken. They got that fixed removed the live wire completely reran the plug that was put in assnine and fixed it all up. I was grateful for that and to have a place to live, but I don’t like these maintence guys who do half ass jobs and get paid for full jobs. I could go through here and point out at least 10 things that wouldn’t pass normal building code, at least not in Michigan. Alabama is for the birds! I’m really sick of their backwood ways. I don’t mean to sound harsh, but when you have a handbook for the state of Alabama for Landlord/Tenant rules/laws, but then say there is no law to verify what the handbook says. It’s absolutely ridiculous!
Now that it’s pouring we have this far our one bedroom window just started pouring water in all the sudden. I put a towel up there cause I cannot fit a bowl or bucket, it’s coming from the glass at the top where it’s obviously not siliconed well. That was one of the main things he said that I thought Great caus
e we just lived in a house where the landlord did nothing and the ceiling actually leaked and leaked. At this moment though like I said nothing can be done you cannot silicone in the rain or treat windows. So we’ll give him a call or the hubby may just fix it. It’s really simple the top of the window isn’t sealed, it’s visible pretty much, you can tell how the seal is broken, dried up and hardened. That’s bound to happen in this Alabama Sun that Beats down on our homes.
Here are some photos of the windows that are leaking.
Yes the window is painted lol we always find a place that has been painted with flowers or something still in the home with homemade flowers painted on. Strange event really, because seriously every place we move too!
